Internship # 16

This internship was a good experience because I learn I can be patient with the little kids. That was something significant because in the beginning I though being patient was easy, but it was a little difficult because I got to work on that more.

Internship # 11

Summary of the week: 01/19-01/22

This week was a short week because we didn't went on Monday. So on Tuesday I was in the class helping the kids and my mentor, when the Kindergarten needed help with work I would go. And I would have my lower and higher group. Wednesday was a short day, I staple some paper help the kids with their project because on Wednesday is art time. In the end I stayed with mentor and help to stuff for the nest day. I did like a book for the students. That week was rainy so the students had recess inside the class. On Thursday in the morning I went to a classroom were all the books goes (not the library) to help stamp the books for the students, so they can use it. Then I went back to the classroom to help my mentor. Friday it was the same because I stay in the class to meet with my group, went to the library with them, passing things, and cleaning up.
A challenge that I got was my lower group was paying attention normally they do, but they just needed to read with me. I think because it was the first time we done reading with them and it was knew for them.
I was helping my mentor getting the kids in line for lunch and so it was windy outside and the kids were putting on their jackets. There was a kindergarten who was putting on his jacket, but he couldn't because he had something in his hand and so he told me to hold it for him while he put it on. In the end when he was done I gave back his thing back and he said" Thank you for helping me," that is something that would be memorable to me.

Summary:
I am working with one of the Kindergarten class in Sherman Elementary school. In this whole week I have been helping the students with their activities and sometimes I have a group of four students that needs help with math and English and also with the higher group. On Wednesday it was a short day for the students so I stay until 3:30 with my mentor talking and helping her do some stuff for the first day. So pretty much I do the same thing each day. In the mornings I have been going with a teacher, helping her stampings books which she is in charge of getting the books for the kids. It only takes me about an hour and half because I do a box each day. I bring my lunch everyday and my mentor, Lisbeth, Consuelo, and their mentor have lunch together in a classroom. Some challenges that I get is sometimes when I am with the group of kids and someone is not paying attention or not listening just doing what they want, but I overcome is if they don't want to be here they can go back what the others kids are doing. Also I am working to memorize each student names because sometimes I don't know all of them. I think I work with the students very well and sometimes they would call me Ms. Reyes if they need any help. Something interesting is that some of the students comes and hugs me and they tell me questions. If I would describe my internship to someone I would tell them if they like kids and have a little patients with them you would have a great time. I did like it it was an amazing experience.
